When buying a CyberGhost subscription you are entitled to use a certain amount of devices at the same time with your CyberGhost subscription.
- Regular subscription: Up to 5 devices (depending on the plan chosen)
- Offline Box (only available in German speaking countries): 1 OR 3 OR 5 devices (depending on the product bought)
- Special Edition: 1 device
Some of the examples mentioned above might not be available anymore or not at this time!
In case you have a regular subscription, you can use up to 5 devices with your CyberGhost account at the same time, e.g. a Windows PC, an Android Smartphone, an iPhone, a native protocol on a router, etc. CyberGhost offers clients for Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Android, other devices can be configured to work with a native VPN protocol.
Please note that there is a difference between 'How many devices can I use with CyberGhost?' and 'How many devices can I use with CyberGhost at the same time?'. Whereas you can theoretically use CyberGhost with an indefinite number of devices, you can use different CyberGhost installations at the same time only with the maximum number of slots your subscription is good for!
Whether you have a subscription for 1 device, 3 devices or 5 devices, you may come to a point in time, when you have reached the number of maximum allowed devices to be used at the same time - which will naturally be very soon, if you have a 1 device subscription and quite late, when you have a 5 devices subscription.
Now, to fulfill the promise of endless devices to use your subscription with, you just need to remove the current active device from your account management. Once done, the up to this point occupied slot becomes available again and you can log in to any other client on any other platform with the credentials of the resp. account. The system will notice the new device as well as the free slot and connect you to the service. The free slot will be marked as occupied again - and as long as you don't have any other free slots, you need to free another one to add another new device (see below 'Extended management).
You can start the removal of the current device from right inside your Windows client. The important work will be done for you in the background in your web account management. Just click on 'Manage Devices'.
In the next window you find information on how many devices you can use your subscription simultaneously with, and how many of them already are activated.
If you want to use your subscription on a different computer and have no other slots free, click on 'Logout from this computer'. This frees the occupied slot immediately and you now can login with the credentials of the account used in any other device, be it another Windows PC, Android, iPad, etc.
