Some users have a proxy setup in their Internet Explorer which might lead to different problems such as:
- While a connection to our servers is still possible, the connection will be a slow one. One reason is that the used proxy might be slow, another one is that the cascade (a tunnel inside a tunnel) needs more time for encryption.
- A side effect is that our anonymity test will fail and will show this in a pop-up.
If it were in your intentions to work CyberGhost all along with a proxy, you probably know about the decrease in speed due to cascadation. To avoid the error message of a failed anonymity test, please delete all proxy settings in your Internet Explorer settings and enter the same values in the CyberGhost client's settings.
You will find the respective location via 'Settings (the gear symbol) > Advanced settings > Proxy'. There you activate the type of proxy and enter proxy address and port number. The proxy settings of the Internet Explorer you will find via 'Gear symbol > Connections > LAN Settings > Proxy Server'. There you deactivate the check box 'Use a proxy server ...'.
