The CyberGhost VPN client comes with its own automatic connection blocking system, based on our own Firewall technique (SecureConnect). It gets activated as soon as a connection to the CyberGhost network gets interrupted unexpectedly and absorbs connection losses without letting your anonymity be compromised.
Because SecureConnect is so important, it is 'hardwired' into the client, but if it troubles you (sometimes people would like to rather not interrupt an existing connection, e.g. when playing online games) you can deactivate it in the Windows registry. Therefore open the registry (regedit.exe) and search for 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CyberGhost'. Open the key 'SecureConnect' and change it from 'True' to 'False'. Restart CyberGhost.
Note: Since SecureConnect is a very important security feature, we ask you not to change anything, except you have a good reason to do so and you know exactly what you are doing. In many cases you might be better off to discuss the matter with the support team to minimize the risk of endangering your anonymity!
