Why does CyberGhost VPN require me to install a helper tool on Mac ?

The 'Helper tool' dialog is a consequence of asking the kernel for an escalation of privileges. It allows establishing a stable and secure WireGuard® connection with our VPN servers.  When you are not using CyberGhost, the helper tool also ensures that all your Internet settings return to normal.

You will need to enter your computer's administrator password to allow CyberGhost VPN to install the help tool. If you are not the administrator of your device, you may need to obtain the administrator's authorization for the installation.

CyberGhost VPN has nothing to do with it and never sees what you type in.

Note : Please note that this password is different from your CyberGhost VPN account password ( it must be the password you use to log in to your computer ).

Be sure to select "Install Helper" when prompted.

What the 'Helper Tool' does :

• Sets up the network devices for the WireGuard®connection.
• Controls the WireGuard® connection (up/down).
• Changes the network routing (for WireGuard®) to get the packages routed over the WireGuard® interface.
