Why are my P2P download rates so low?

Sometimes people report very slow download rates. This is due to CyberGhost not allowing port-forwarding, meaning, all ingoing connections are blocked.

This behavior leads to unavailability for other clients, users can't connect with your P2P client anymore and you get a low ID (because you don't seed and just leech). Then it won't help, if you adapt your router’s and/or your software Firewall and open the respective port needed for the client or activate UPnP or NAT-PMP (which accomplish port-forwarding).

If CyberGhost allowed port-forwarding, a user would be identifiable, because a port can be assigned to him.
