CyberGhost Identity Guard automatically alerts you if your email address is revealed in a data breach, allowing you to change your password quickly. It is powered by Have I Been Pwned, a free service that tracks known data breaches.

What Identity Guard Includes
Identity Guard includes two tools:
- Email monitoring: Continuously monitors your email address and alerts you if it appears in a data breach
- Password Checker: Allows you to test whether a password has previously appeared in a data breach.
It’s available directly from your CyberGhost account page in a browser. It isn’t part of the CyberGhost app.
How to Set Up Identity Guard
Follow this quick guide to set up Identity Guard:
- Log into your CyberGhost VPN user dashboard.

Click Identity Guard on the left-side panel.

Enter any account email to scan for breaches, then click Activate.

Check that email’s inbox for a confirmation request. Click Yes, monitor this address.

Return to your dashboard. You should see a green check below Status and a number below Leaks, indicating the history of any previous leaks relating to this address.
How to Add a Second Email Address For Monitoring
You can add a maximum of two email addresses and select which one should be your primary address to receive reports immediately.
To add another address, click Add new email and repeat the steps.
How to Set Up a Primary Address
To choose a primary email address to get immediate alerts, click the three dots (...) next to the address and select Set as primary email.
How to Remove an Email Address
To remove existing addresses, click the three dots (...) next to it and select Remove email.
How to Use the Password Checker
- Go to the Identity Guard section in your CyberGhost account.

Select Password Checker, enter the password you want to check, and click Check it now.

Identity Guard will tell you whether that password has appeared in a known data breach.
If your password has been compromised, change it immediately on any account where you use it.
