By default, the LibreELEC System Information panel shows your local network address, not your external VPN IP. To confirm your VPN is working correctly, you need to verify your external IP using an add-on.

Checking Your External IP on Kodi
Installing an IP-Checker
One option is the DNS Leak-Test add-on, which is available through Kodi's add-on repository. This tool checks both your external IP address and your VPN tunnel at the same time.
Here’s how to install it:
- From the Kodi home screen, go to Settings > Add-ons.
- Select Install from repository > Program Add-ons.
- Find DNS Leak-Test in the list and click Install.
Note: Add-on availability may vary depending on your Kodi version and repository configuration.
Checking Your External IP on Kodi
Make sure your VPN is connected, then follow the steps below:
- Open Add-ons from your Kodi home screen.
- Click Program Add-ons > DNS Leak-Test.
- Wait for the network results to load.
The add-on will display your current public IP address. If the reported location matches the country or region of your selected VPN server, your VPN connection is likely active and routing traffic correctly.
Tip: If you don’t know the exact VPN server IP, use an online lookup tool to verify that the city or country matches your chosen region.
