If you're not sure whether CyberGhost VPN has successfully changed your IP address and protected your connection, you can use our Privacy Test to check your status.
The test will show whether your connection is protected or exposed, helping you confirm that your VPN is working correctly.
Check Your VPN Connection
-
Open the CyberGhost app and connect to a VPN server. Once connected, your home screen should indicate an active and protected connection.
-
Visit the Privacy Test page. If your VPN is working correctly, your status should show Protected.
If you’re connected to a VPN server but your test result shows Exposed, your connection may not be fully protected. Try the following steps:
- Disconnect and reconnect to the VPN.
- Check that your VPN connection is active before running the test.
- Disable IPv6 if it’s enabled on your device.
- Enable WebRTC leak prevention.
DNS Leak Test
Visit the DNS Leak Test page to check whether your DNS requests are being routed securely through CyberGhost VPN.
When you’re connected to CyberGhost VPN, the test should display a Protected status.
If the test shows Exposed or displays DNS servers that belong to your ISP or local network instead of your VPN connection, your DNS requests may not be fully protected. In that case, try reconnecting to the VPN and review any DNS, IPv6, or WebRTC settings that could be causing traffic to bypass the VPN.
