System Requirements
The CyberGhost VPN app and CyberGhost app APK are compatible with Android-based Amazon Fire TV devices running the following OS versions:
- Amazon Fire TV devices running Fire OS 6 or later
- Amazon Fire Stick devices running Fire OS 6 or later
The app and APK are not compatible with devices running older versions of Fire OS or Vega OS. You can check what operating system your Fire TV or Fire Stick device uses in Amazon’s Fire OS overview guide.
How to Install
If your Fire device supports the CyberGhost app, you can install it directly from the Amazon Appstore. If you have a compatible device but can’t find the app in the Appstore, you can sideload the CyberGhost app APK instead.
Install the CyberGhost App
- Press
Find (magnifying glass icon) on your Fire TV or Fire Stick.
- Search for “CyberGhost VPN" and select it.
- Click on the download button next to Get. As soon as the download is complete, CyberGhost VPN will be automatically installed.
Install CyberGhost Using the APK
If you can’t access the Amazon Appstore on your Fire TV or Fire Stick, you can install CyberGhost using its APK file.
Important: This setup method uses a third-party app (Downloader) and requires you to enable permission to install apps from unknown sources. Only install the APK provided directly by CyberGhost VPN Customer Support. Once setup is complete, you can turn off the installation permission and uninstall the third-party app if you no longer need it.
Step 1: Get the APK File
Contact CyberGhost Customer Support to request the CyberGhost app APK for your compatible Fire TV or Fire Stick device.
Step 2: Enable Developer Options
To install APK files on your Fire device, you need to enable developer options in your settings. If you already have developer options enabled, you can skip this and proceed to the installation steps.
- Open Settings.
- Go to Device & Software > About.
- Select the first option in the list. This should say Your TV or the name of your Fire TV device.
- Press the Select button on your Fire TV remote 7 times.
- You should now see a message saying you’re already a developer. You can now access Developer Options from Device & Software.
Step 3: Download and Install the APK
- On the dashboard, go to
Find (magnifying glass icon). Type Downloader.
- Select Download.
- Once it’s downloaded, go to Settings.
- Select Device & Software.
- Select Developer Options.
- Select Install unknown apps.
- Toggle Downloader to ON.
- Go back to Your apps and channels and open the Downloader app.
- If prompted, select Allow to give Downloader access to your photos, media, and files.
- Select the text-entry box at the top of the screen.
- Type your email inbox URL into the address bar, open your conversation with CyberGhost Customer Support, and download the APK file.
- After downloading, select Install on the next screen.
- Once the app is installed, select Open.
Log Into the App
Once the installation is complete, the app should open automatically. If it doesn’t, click Open to launch the application.
Choose Continue when asked about the sharing of data.
The application automatically generates a PIN code, which can be validated in your CyberGhost VPN account:
- In your browser, log into your user dashboard and choose Download Hub.
- Scroll to CyberGhost VPN for Amazon Fire TV and click Connect.
- Enter the PIN code you see on your TV screen and click Save.
- Then, click Validate PIN on your Fire TV.
- After you’ve validated your PIN, a pop-up message appears. Select OK to give CyberGhost VPN permission to encrypt your internet traffic.
- Select OK to confirm again.
You’re now ready to connect to a server.
How to Connect to a Server
Once your VPN is set up, you can connect to a server by tapping the power button. This will connect you to the recommended server location.
Alternatively, tap Best Location to access the complete CyberGhost server list.
Click on the country you want to connect to, or switch to the Streaming tab to see servers optimized for streaming. The Favorites tab shows any server you’ve favorited by clicking the star icon to the right of it.
When you pick a location, you’ll be returned to the main screen, and the connection will be established automatically.
CyberGhost displays the country you’re surfing from, the name of the server in use, and its IP address.
Your traffic is now protected by CyberGhost VPN on your Fire TV or Fire Stick. For more setup tips, follow our guide to customize your VPN settings on Amazon Fire TV or Fire Stick.
