When you connect to CyberGhost VPN, your traffic travels to an assigned VPN server before it reaches its final destination. That server needs to know your real IP address to establish a connection and keep it running.
CyberGhost uses RAM-only servers, meaning nothing gets written to a hard drive. The moment a server restarts, any data it was holding disappears permanently.
On top of that, CyberGhost follows a strict no-logs policy, which means it never stores information that could be traced back to you, including your incoming and outgoing IP addresses, browsing history, DNS queries, or how long you were connected. There's simply nothing to hand over, even if someone asked for it.
As for the websites you visit, CyberGhost doesn’t show them your real IP address. They only see the address of the VPN server, which many CyberGhost users share at once. Shared IPs make it significantly harder to link activity to any individual user, though factors like browser fingerprinting, cookies, and account logins can still reveal identity in some contexts.
