This guide explains how to use CyberGhost with a Sony PlayStation through a VPN-compatible router. To proceed, you’ll need an active CyberGhost subscription.
In most home networks, your internet connection is delivered through an ISP-provided modem, router, or optical network terminal (ONT). In many cases, these devices are limited in functionality, so a separate VPN-compatible router is needed to connect to the CyberGhost network. Depending on the hardware and firmware, some routers can also be configured to handle both your internet connection and VPN traffic in a single device.
A VPN-enabled router creates a separate network that routes traffic through the VPN, allowing your PlayStation to benefit from the connection without requiring any software on the console.
To configure your VPN router, please refer to the appropriate guide for your device:

Connect your PlayStation to the VPN-compatible router
After configuring your router for the VPN connection, you need to adjust the network settings on your PlayStation. If you’re using a wired (Ethernet) connection, the setup is usually automatic and requires no additional configuration on your side. If you’re using Wi-Fi, do the following:
-
On your PlayStation, select the cog icon to go to settings.
-
Select Network.
-
Choose Settings and Set Up Internet Connection.
-
Select your VPN-enabled Wi-Fi connection.
-
Enter the password and select OK.
-
Wait for the connection to be established.
-
Check the connection status in the top right corner.
Your PlayStation will now use a VPN-enabled connection.
