CyberGhost VPN includes several features that can help you check your VPN connection, block unwanted content, and improve connectivity on restrictive or heavily filtered networks. This includes: Connection checker, domain fronting, content blocker, and small packet size.
Connection Checker
The Connection Checker helps verify that your VPN connection is working properly. It runs a series of checks on your network and VPN connection to identify potential issues that could affect connectivity, performance, or security.
To access it, select the cog icon in the top-right corner of the main dashboard.
From there, select the VPN tab and choose the Connection Checker option.
On the next screen, select Run test to test various aspects of your connection.
During the test, the app displays the status of each check, helping you identify any issues that may be affecting your connection.
Once the test is complete, the app displays a results screen showing the outcome of each check. You can also select Rerun test to perform the diagnostics again.
Domain Fronting
Domain Fronting is a connection feature designed to help maintain VPN access on networks that restrict or block VPN traffic. It works by disguising certain connection requests so they appear to be communicating with a different online service, making it more difficult for network filters to identify and block the VPN connection.
To access it, select the cog icon in the top-right corner of the main dashboard.
Then, from the General tab, turn on Use Doman Fronting by selecting the toggle switch.
Content Blocker
The Content Blocker helps reduce unwanted online content by blocking ads, trackers, and access to known malicious websites. This can improve your browsing experience and provide an additional layer of protection against harmful domains.
To access it, select the cog icon in the top-right corner of the main dashboard.
On the General tab, scroll down to Content Blocker and select it to enable the feature.
Small Packet Size
Small Packet Size adjusts how data is divided and transmitted over the VPN connection. By sending smaller data packets, it can help improve connection stability on some networks, particularly those that experience packet loss, congestion, or compatibility issues. However, it may slightly reduce connection speeds in certain situations.
To access it, select the cog icon in the top-right corner of the main dashboard.
On the General tab, scroll down to Small packet size and select it to enable the feature.\
