How to Use Gaming-Optimized Servers with CyberGhost VPN on Windows

The CyberGhost VPN app for Windows has gaming-optimized servers. They are configured to prioritize gaming traffic, meaning they may route your data through more efficient paths to help keep in-game ping stable.

Note: Some games and gaming platforms prohibit VPN use, and using one may result in limited access, account suspension, or other penalties. Always review the applicable terms and policies before using a VPN to play a game. 

To connect to a gaming-optimized server on the Windows app:

1. Launch the CyberGhost VPN app and click the arrow button (<) on the left. This will expand the app menu.

   

2. Select the For Gaming tab on the left.

   

3. Choose a gaming-optimized server, then click the power button to connect.

   

For an optimal experience, select a nearby gaming-optimized server with low ping. You can rank servers by latency or distance by clicking the Ping and Distance column headers.

Tip: If you are playing a browser game, clear your browser’s cookies and cache before connecting. Cookies may retain previous location data, which can interfere with your connection. You can use the CyberGhost Cookie Cleaner to do this.
