What is it all about?
It’s about you taking care of your friend’s online safety and privacy. So, yeah, basically it’s about you and your friends. If you join and refer CyberGhost to a friend, he or she will know, you’re wide awake of what’s going on in this world, that you care about him or her and you know your way around.
Who is eligible to join the best friend program?
YOU! That is if you have an existing CyberGhost account with an active CyberGhost subscription.
What’s in it for me?
30 free additional days on your running CyberGhost subscription – regardless of its type or length. And that goes just for one friend. You refer two, you’re good for 60 days. And if you refer three …, well, right, you got the point: 90 days! Also: Friends will be friends will be friends. Ask Queen (the band, that is) ;-)
What’s in it for my friends?
Beside online anonymity, borderless streaming, safe downloads, the right to go, where none wants him or her to go? Also, 30 free additional days on top of the subscription chosen.
How does it work?
So easy, it will cost us a lot of money:
Step 1
Open https:// www.cyberghostvpn.com/en_US/refer-a-friend (if you’re not already here) and click on the big yellow button to log-in to your CyberGhost account. Remember: You need to have an account and a running subscription, to be able to join the Best Friend Program. If you don’t have one, you might consider purchasing a subscription just for yourself first – and then fill it up with extra days by referring some good friends.
Step 2
Once logged in you see a bunch of slots, called (surprise) ‘Invite a friend’. Click on the button ‘Create invitation’.
The next window provides you with a link, generated solely for you. This link grants that, whoever it gets and purchases a subscription by using this link, you will be entitled to receive 30 free days of CyberGhost Premium, extending your current subscription.
Now share this link any way you like. Click on ‘Copy’ and either insert the link wherever you want to, be it a private mail, a social media post, or whatever you can think of. Just remember that only one person can use this specific link.
Or you enter your friend’s email address here in the same window. If you don’t feel like exposing his or her address, give him or her a call and ask for an allowance or a special address for usages such as this. You can also enter his or her name as well as your name and a personal note – but none of it is mandatory. CyberGhost will send him a nice introduction and save you the time to explain, including the info that he or she will get 30 additional days for free on his/her subscription when using the link you just sent.
Once the invitation is being sent, relax, and wait for an answer. It might take some time, depending on how often your buddy checks his/her mails and how much time he/she needs to purchase. The slot you used will change its color and show a ‘Pending’ info.
If you have more than one friend you’re not only a lucky dude, but you can also send two more invitations. And remember: Each of your friends will get 30 additional days (while you get up to 90!).
Step 3
If your friend accepts the link and clicks on it, he or she will be redirected to a special landing page, where he/she can choose between different subscription types.
After your friend(s) purchase of a CyberGhost subscription (and successful payment, of course), you will instantly get your 30 additional free days on top of your current running subscription. Thumbs up, my friend.
How can I cancel an invitation already sent?
If you by accident entered a wrong email address or if your friend changed his/her mind, simply return to the Refer a Friend page, log-in, and click on ‘Cancel invitation’ to free the slot once again and send the link to a different friend.
What happens if I delete a link before my friend purchased it?
Deleting a link means revoking the invitation. Instead of being invited to a special CyberGhost subscription with 30 free additional days, your friend will be redirected to the regular pricing page, while a banner informs about the dead link.
What happens if a friend will use a link that already had been used?
If you publish your link on social media and don’t send it to someone specific, only the first one will get the special offer. For all others goes the same as above (‘What happens if I delete a link?’).
