Through to the Account Dashboard - Smart DNS needs to be enabled.
Completing the only requirement as described above, now head over to your Nintendo Wii U. The below steps are presented for you which will help you apply the CyberGhost SmartDNS via Nintendo Wii U:
Step 1 of 12: Press the Home button on your Wii U controller
Step 2 of 12: Choose System Settings
Step 3 of 12: Tap Internet
Step 4 of 12: Choose Connect to the Internet
Step 5 of 12: Pick Connections - located in the top-right corner
Step 6 of 12: Highlight and tap the Wi-Fi connection used by your Wii U and configure it
Step 7 of 12: Choose Change Settings
Step 8 of 12: Scroll through the Internet-Connection Setup menu (left or right) . Once the DNS menu is reached tap on DNS
Step 9 of 12: For the purpose of using the CyberGhost SmartDNS, the following choices are possible:
- Auto-Obtain: Use this feature if you wish the DNS to be the same one provided to you by your ISP
- Don't Auto-obtain: you can manually input the CyberGhost DNS shown in the Account Dashboard
Step 10 of 12: After choosing Don't Auto-Obtain, configure as follows:
- Primary DNS: Use the CyberGhost Smart DNS presented in the Account Dashboard
- Secondary DNS: leave blank
Step 11 of 12: Press Confirm
Step 12 of 12: Push the Home button on the Wii U controller to complete the set-up
- DNS settings completed -
Additional Steps: When asked by the Support Team - the following steps are useful:
a. Press the Home button on your Wii U controller
b. Choose System Settings
c. Select Internet
d. Connect to the Internet
e. Tap Connections in the upper right corner
f. Pick the Wi-Fi used by your Wii U to connect to the Internet
g. Choose Connection Test
h. The test will run automatically and the results will be displayed to you.
With the results displayed, return to the Support Team with the results in order to help with any(if any) troubleshooting steps
Note: Upon implementing the DNS and associating the DNS with your IP address - should your IP address change, your IP address needs to be linked(activated) again in the Account Dashboard but the DNS does not need to be changed.
