Smart DNS lets you use CyberGhost DNS settings on your Apple TV. This guide explains how to configure Smart DNS on Apple TV models released before Apple TV HD, including Apple TV (3rd generation, 2012) and earlier.
If you're using a newer model of Apple TV, visit our guide for Apple TV 4K here.
Note: Smart DNS works separately from the CyberGhost VPN app. It can change how some DNS requests are handled, but it doesn’t encrypt your internet traffic or provide the same privacy and security protections as a VPN connection.

Select Smart DNS from the left-hand menu.

Select Enable Smart DNS.
- Under Apple TV, you’ll see a list of smart DNS server addresses. Make a note of the one you want to use.
