Allow CyberGhost VPN Through Windows Firewall

Open Windows Security.

Go to Firewall & network protection.

Select Advanced settings.

Select Outbound Rules > New Rule…

Check the Program checkbox.

Select Dashboard.exe and click Open. Note: You’ll find Dashboard.exe in C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8 by default.

Select Allow the connection and click Next.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 for:
- OpenVPN.exe x64: C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8\Applications/VPN/Data/OpenVPN/x64
- OpenVPN.exe x86: C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8\Applications/VPN/Data/OpenVPN/x86

Select Inbound Rules and repeat steps 6, 7, and 8.
- Restart CyberGhost VPN and check if the issue is fixed.
Allow CyberGhost VPN Through a Third-Party Antivirus
If you use a third-party firewall or antivirus app, add CyberGhost VPN to its exception or allow list. Add these files:
- Dashboard.exe: C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8
- Dashboard.Service.exe: C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8
- wyUpdate.exe: C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8
- PeLauncher.exe: C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8\Applications\VPN
- OpenVPN.exe x64: C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8\Applications\VPN\Data\OpenVPN\x64
- OpenVPN.exe x86: C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8\Applications\VPN\Data\OpenVPN\x86
This process may be slightly different depending on the antivirus solution you’re using.
