Set Up CyberGhost VPN for Android via APK File

If you can’t get CyberGhost VPN from an Android app store, you can request the APK file directly from our Customer Support team. To avoid malware and ensure you get the latest app version, avoid downloading CyberGhost VPN from third-party sources.

Enable APK Installation on Your Android Device

Before downloading the file, you must enable APK installations. Android disables this feature by default as a security measure against potentially malicious apps. 

The process differs based on your device’s manufacturer: 

Samsung

Note: Samsung devices that use OneUI need to enable unknown app installation in the browser and disable the “Auto Blocker” feature in the phone’s security settings.

This guide uses a Samsung Galaxy S23 running on OneUI 8.5.

Enable unknown app installation in the browser

  1. Go to Settings and open Apps.

  3.  Select Special access.

  4. Select Install unknown apps.

  5. Find your browser and toggle the button on.

You can now download the APK file.

Disable Auto Blocker

  1. In the Settings, select Security and privacy.

  2. Tap Auto Blocker.

  3. Disable Auto Blocker. The Turn on automatically option should be automatically enabled after you do this. This means Auto Blocker will be reenabled automatically in 30 minutes. We recommend you leave this untouched, as Auto Blocker can protect you from malware and remote commands.

Xiaomi

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy.
  2. Open Special permission.
  3. Select Install unknown apps.
  4. Select your browser and enable Allow from this source.
  5. Tap OK to confirm. If prompted, check “I’m aware of the possible risks” first.

Huawei and Honor

  1. Go to Settings > Security.
  2. Select More settings.
  3. Tap Install apps from external sources.
  4. Find your browser in the app list. Open the menu and enable Allow app installs.
     

2. Download the CyberGhost VPN APK file

After our Support Team sends the file, download it and follow these steps.

  1. From your phone’s Downloads folder, tap the APK file, then tap Allow in the new pop-up menu.

  1. Tap the Install button.

After installing CyberGhost VPN, consider disabling APK installations to keep your device safe from unreliable third-party apps.
