Why Does Support Ask Me to Disable IPV6?

The steps below use the TP-Link AC1750 Archer C7 with firmware version 3.13.32. The steps may be the same or similar on other TP-Link router models or these versions.

Open a web browser. Enter your router login address in the address bar. The default address is usually http://192.168.1.1. If you’ve changed this address, use the custom address instead.

Sign in to your TP-Link router dashboard. In the left-side menu, go to IPv6 Support > IPv6 Setup.

Under WAN Setup, uncheck Enable IPv6. Click Save.

If a pop-up message asks you to reboot your router, confirm the reboot with OK.
Disable IPv6 on v4 and v5 Firmware
The steps below use the TP-Link AC1750 Archer C7 with firmware version 5.0. The steps may be the same or similar on other TP-Link router models or these versions.

Open a web browser. Enter your router login address in the address bar. The default address is usually http://192.168.1.1. If you’ve set a custom address, use that one instead.

Sign in to your TP-Link router dashboard. Open the Advanced tab.

Select IPv6 from the left-side menu and toggle IPv6 off. Click Save.
Do not change any settings in the MAC Clone tab for this guide.
Why Does Support Ask Me to Disable IPV6?
CyberGhost VPN supports IPv4 connections. Disabling IPv6 helps Support check whether your VPN connection works correctly in an IPv4-only environment.
