With various router models available, the current tutorial reproduces the steps as to how to disable IPv6 on TP-Link routers (firmware v4 and v5).
*NOTE: For the purpose of this tutorial, TP-Link AC1750 - Archer C7 with firmware version v5.0 is used to depict the steps but for other models, the process can be the exact same or very similar, with little to no differences. For other models, refer to the Support Team at the pages listed at the end of the tutorial.
It is advised that CyberGhost does provide IPv4 capabilities and perhaps, for
extensive troubleshooting, disabling IPv6 on your device will be requested.
Step 1 out of 5: Access your router dashboard(homepage) by writing the home address (LAN IP) in any Internet browser page.
* Typically, the default home address(LAN IP) is: http://192.168.1.1 but may vary if a different one was assigned.
Step 2 out of 5: After loading the Router dashboard, refer to the Advanced tab:
Step 3 out of 5: In the left side menu, choose: IPv6.
Step 4 out of 5: Disable IPv6 and make sure that the check box is grayed out to tell that IPv6 is disabled.
Step 5 out of 5: Confirm the change by pressing "Save" under Internet tab.
Mac Clone tab is left unchanged.

Q: I only need IPv6 capabilities, as I do not trust IPv4. Why do I need to disable IPv6 ?
A: Ensuring maximum privacy is our top concern and by using IPv4, it does provide maximum privacy capabilities and performance output. What this in turn means is that whichever server you may be using, with IPv4, your traffic is encrypted with AES 256-BIT encryption.
Q: Why does Support ask me to disable IPv6 ?
A: Support may request that IPv6 is disabled from your end as this step is imperative that the VPN tunnel is working optimally and nothing will hinder the traffic even if only IPv4 is used.
Q: My ISP provides only IPv6 !
A: No worries ! For the best approach, please get in touch with the Support Team at the below addresses and the best action plan will be put up so that your privacy and anonymity is ensured.
Q: I disabled IPv6 but my VPN still does not work. What do I do now ?
A: Disabling IPv6 is just one of the steps that can be used for troubleshooting and for a more extensive investigation, please get in touch with the Support Team.
