Adjusting CyberGhost VPN Settings
System Requirements
Here are the minimum system requirements to install the CyberGhost VPN app on a Windows computer:
- .NET 4.8 compatible PC
- 1 GHz PC 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
- 2 GB RAM (depending on your running Windows operating system)
- 310 megabytes of free hard drive space (280 MB less, if Microsoft .NET 4.6 is already installed)
- All operating systems on 32 and 64-bit
- Operating systems:
- Windows 10 version 1903 and above
- Windows 11
- All processors except for Microsoft SQ1/SQ2/SQ3 and Snapdragon, which are ARM-based processors
Download the App
- Visit the CyberGhost VPN website and click Download VPN for PC.

Locate the installation file on your device after the download is complete and open it.
Install the App
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install the app.
2. Choose Agree & Continue if you consent to limited anonymous data being shared with CyberGhost, or select I want to opt-out.
3. Wait a few seconds, and the CyberGhost VPN app will open automatically.
Log Into CyberGhost VPN
Once the app has opened, log into CyberGhost VPN with the account linked to your subscription. If you haven’t purchased a subscription yet, you can buy one here.
Note: If you purchased a subscription and received account details or a temporary password by email, use those details to log in. You can change your password later from your account settings.
If you don't have an account yet, select Click here to create one. Then enter a valid email address and a password, and click Sign up.
Connect to CyberGhost VPN
For a quick VPN connection, click the power button, and the app will connect you to the best VPN server available based on your current location.
When your connection is successful, it’ll say Connected above the power button. In the lower part of the main window, you can also view information about your VPN connection:
- Your new IP address.
- The amount of data transferred in and out.
- The protocol used to establish the connection.
- The duration of time you have been connected to the VPN server.
To disconnect, just tap the power button again.
Adjusting CyberGhost VPN Settings
There are a few ways to customize the app:
- Click on the expand button (>) to view all available servers and features (then click on whichever one you want to connect to).
- In the expanded view, click on Privacy Settings and Smart Rules for additional features like content blocking, Wi-Fi protection, and split-tunneling.
- Click the cogwheel to open the Settings menu. Here you can change your VPN protocol, MTU size, and more.
