How to Sign Up (New Users) or Log In (Existing Users) to CyberGhost VPN on macOS

This guide explains how to create a CyberGhost account and start a free trial or log in if you already have an account.

The CyberGhost VPN app supports macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and later. Before continuing, download and install the latest version of CyberGhost VPN.

I Am New to CyberGhost VPN

To sign up for CyberGhost, you can either create an account in the macOS app to start a free trial or purchase a subscription through the CyberGhost website.

CyberGhost currently offers a 24-hour free trial on macOS, which you can start without entering any payment details. Learn more about the CyberGhost VPN free trial here.

Option 1: Create an Account and Start a Free Trial

Note: In the CyberGhost VPN app for macOS, you can create a free-trial account only with an email address and password. Options to sign up with Apple, Google, or another third-party account aren’t available.

1. Open the CyberGhost VPN app on your Mac.

2. On the login screen, click Sign up.

   

3. Enter a valid email address. This email address will be associated with your CyberGhost account and used to activate the trial.
4. Create a password and enter it again in the confirmation field.

5. Click Sign up.

   

6. CyberGhost will send an activation email to the address you entered. If you don’t see it in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder and confirm that you entered the correct email address. If everything checks out, select Resend activation.

   

7. Open the email and click Activate Free Trial. 

   

8. Return to the CyberGhost VPN app, and the trial will start automatically. The app will display a timer showing how much time remains in your trial.

   

If you want to purchase a subscription right away, you can select the UPGRADE button next to the trial timer to see the available paid plans. Then follow the steps in Option 2 below.

If the trial doesn’t start automatically:

1. Reopen or restart the app. 
2. If prompted, log in with the email address (your username) and password you used when creating the account.

Option 2: Purchase a CyberGhost VPN Subscription

You can also create an account by purchasing a subscription through the CyberGhost website. Check our guide on how to purchase a subscription for step-by-step instructions. 

I Already Have a CyberGhost Account

If you already have a CyberGhost account, use your existing credentials to log in. This includes your CyberGhost username and password. 

Your username is your email address by default, unless you changed your username in your online CyberGhost account. In that case, you will have to use the set username. Your email address won’t work as an alternative on the login screen.

To log into your account:

1. Open the CyberGhost VPN app on your Mac.

2. Enter your CyberGhost username in the Username field. Then, enter your password in the Password field. 

   

3. Once done, click Login.

   

After you log in, the app should recognize the subscription associated with your account. If your subscription does not appear, confirm that you logged in with the same account used to purchase it.

Note: The macOS app only supports logins with a username and password combination. You can’t log into your CyberGhost account on macOS with sign-in options like Apple, Google, or another third-party account.
