Reinstall the CyberGhost App
If you see an error such as:
CyberGhost could not download needed files. Please check your internet connectivity and try Installation!
Uninstall CyberGhost and reinstall it using the latest installer for your device:
If the installation still fails, continue with the troubleshooting steps below.
Check Your Antivirus and Other Security Software
Antivirus, firewall, and other security software can sometimes interfere with the CyberGhost installation. Check whether you have any security applications installed on your device.
If your antivirus includes its own VPN, temporarily disable or remove the VPN and restart your computer. Some antivirus products with built-in VPNs include:
- Bitdefender
- Norton
- Avast Ultimate
- AVG
If the installation still doesn't work, try adding CyberGhost to your antivirus exclusions. The option may be called Add Exception, Add Exclusion, or something similar depending on your antivirus. On Windows, you can find the file for exclusion in the CyberGhost application folder, which is located at:
C:\Program Files\CyberGhost 8
