Using Linux has become more and more frequent with more and more users getting accustomed with the Linux environment. Luckily, the below steps are provided as to how to disable IPv6 - via Settings menu.
Note: Make sure that when opening the Terminal window, the Linux account has Administrator privileges.
Step 1: Head to the Network icon in the upper right corner and choose the Internet connection (Wired or Wi-Fi) and choose Wired settings.
Q: I am seeing Wi-Fi instead of Wired/Ethernet. Is there something wrong ?
A: The purpose of the tutorial is for a Wired connection(Ethernet) and if your
Linux is connecting via Wi-Fi, please choose Wi-Fi instead.
Step 2: With the new settings panel opened, locate Network(in the left side panel). Click Network and choose the Settings icon for the respective Internet connection used.
*Presented here in this tutorial is Wired(Ethernet/cable).
Step 3: With the settings panel opened for the Wired connection(Ethernet), head to the IPv6 tab. For IPv6 method, simply choose: Disable.
Confirm the changes with "Apply".
