Getting started with CyberGhost Security Suite on Windows

This article will show you how to get started with the various tools in CyberGhost Security Suite.

Dashboard

This page shows you the individual statuses for each app and notifies you when any changes are made.

1. When you first open the CyberGhost VPN app, it will start in compact mode. Click the expand button.

2. Click Dashboard on the sidebar.

CyberGhost VPN

This tool can encrypt your online traffic and hide your real IP address to enhance your privacy.

Here’s how to use it:

1. Click the CyberGhost VPN icon on the sidebar.

2. For a quick VPN connection, click the power button, and the app will connect you to the best VPN server available based on your current location. To disconnect, just tap the power button again.

To customize your VPN experience:

1. Click the expand button to view all available servers and features.

2. In expanded mode, click on Privacy Settings and Smart Rules for additional features like Wi-Fi protection and split-tunneling.

3. Click the cogwheel to open the Settings menu. Here, you can change your VPN protocol, MTU size, and more.

Privacy Guard

This tool helps you to control how much of your data is shared with Microsoft.

Here’s how to use it:

1. Click the Privacy Guard icon on the sidebar.

2. If this is your first time opening Privacy Guard, you'll be greeted with a welcome screen. Click Start now.

3. Choose your desired privacy level, and then click Next. You can adjust this setting later if you change your mind.

4. Follow the on-screen prompts. You’ll be given a chance to preview the changes. When you’re ready, click Apply > OK, and that’s it! However, if you want to control any of the settings manually, you can use the relevant toggle switches.

Security Updater

CyberGhost Security Updater helps you manage the apps on your device. It can:

• Provide an overview of all apps installed on your system.
• Identify apps that need updating.
• Flag apps with security vulnerabilities.

To use the tool:

1. Click the Security Updater icon on the sidebar.

2. If this is your first time opening Security Updater, you'll need to perform an initial scan of your device. Click Start now to proceed.

3. Once Security Updater has finished scanning, it’ll present you with a report, informing you of any apps that need updating or may pose security risks.

Antivirus

CyberGhost VPN is partnered with Intego, which offers protection against:

• Malware
• Trojans
• Spyware
• Adware
• Ransomware
• And more

To use Intego:

1. Click the Antivirus icon on the sidebar.

2. If this is your first time opening Antivirus, you’ll be greeted with a welcome screen. Click Install and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation. That’s it! You can now access all of Intego’s features from within the CyberGhost VPN app.
