Keychain is the secure storage system macOS uses to keep your passwords and account information, so you don't have to memorize or manage them yourself. You can view and manage what's stored there through the Keychain Access app.
When you access a password-protected item, such as a website, email account, or network server, you often have the option to save the password. If you do, macOS stores it in your Keychain so you don't have to type it again next time.
How CyberGhost VPN Uses the Keychain
CyberGhost VPN stores your credentials in the Keychain for security and convenience. Each time you connect to a VPN server, the app retrieves your credentials from the Keychain automatically. You may occasionally be prompted to enter your Keychain password to allow this. This is usually the same password you use to log in to your Mac, unless you've set a separate Keychain password.
